Careers:
What's On Offer:
At Douglas Marine & Heavy Civil, we’re building more than projects—we’re building careers. We offer our teammates the opportunity to develop a lifelong career in marine and heavy civil construction, with the training, support, and opportunities needed to grow with the company.
Investing in and retaining great people is a core tenet of our model. We believe experienced, highly skilled teams deliver better work, and we’re committed to creating an environment where talented people can build their skills, take pride in their craft, and build a future with us.
Our commitment to our people includes competitive hourly wages, comprehensive health care, and a workplace built around safety, professional growth, and long-term opportunity.
How Our Hiring Process Works:
At Douglas Marine & Heavy Civil, we keep our hiring process straight to the point. Whether we are mobilizing for an active project or building a local team for an upcoming bid, here is how you move from joining our talent pool to stepping onto the job site.
Step 1: Join Our Regional Craft Pool Submit your information using our 2-minute mobile form below, send us an email, or give us a call. Tell us your primary trade, home region, and how far you are willing to travel. No lengthy applications or complex logins required.
Step 2: Profile Tagging & Local Matching Your profile enters our regional database, categorized strictly by craft and location. When a project is awarded in or near your area, our project managers query local talent first before looking anywhere else.
Step 3: Direct Project Outreach When an active opening matches your craft and location, you will receive a direct text message or phone call with project details—including location, estimated duration, schedule, pay rates, and per diem (if applicable).
Step 4: Craft & Safety Verification If you are available and interested, we conduct a quick phone screening to verify your experience, active certifications (such as OSHA or specialized carding), and background. We confirm logistics to ensure the project is a great fit for you.
Step 5: Onboarding & Site Mobilization Once verified, you receive your offer details, complete digital onboarding paperwork, and receive reporting instructions for site safety orientation. You show up ready to work with a team that values your skill and prioritizes your safety from day one.
Who We Are Looking For:
We’re looking for people who want to build something meaningful and build a career along the way. Whether you’re an experienced construction professional or looking to break into the marine and heavy civil industry, we want teammates who are ready to learn, contribute, and grow with us.
Experience matters, but character matters just as much. We expect every member of our team to bring a commitment to safety, show up on time and ready to work, maintain a positive attitude, and put the team first. If you take pride in your work, care about the people working alongside you, and want to be part of a team that holds itself to a high standard, there’s a place for you at Douglas Marine & Heavy Civil.
